Sona has started squirming around and she often gets herself stuck under the couch from scooting backwards too much ;-)

Sona's 6-month check-up
No photos, just measurements.
At her 6-month check-up, Sona is: 7.83 kilos (17.26 lbs) and 70.5 cm (27.75 in)
All is going well with her and she also had her first few practice hours at the daycare today! Drinking from the bottle is still proving challenging, but she is getting better.....

50 things
Our little girl is already 6 months; she is a very active, smiley baby. She is growing really fast on Mommy's rocket fuel. (that will soon end little cutie ;-).
To mark Sona's 6th month, and as we did with Ian (http://ianmulder.blogspot.nl/2011/05/6-month-mark-50-random-things-i-can-do.html), here are 50 random things Sona can do/has done so far, according to Mama and Papa. See below.
To mark Sona's 6th month, and as we did with Ian (http://ianmulder.blogspot.nl/2011/05/6-month-mark-50-random-things-i-can-do.html), here are 50 random things Sona can do/has done so far, according to Mama and Papa. See below.
1. Roll and roll and roll over until I get stuck under the couch or am a few feet away from the original spot
2. Make hi-pitch shrieking noises when stuck (like the shrieking eels on The Princess Bride)
3. Reject the bottle; the most I drank from a bottle at one time so far is 80ml; the rest has all been coming from Mama
4. Wait patiently when nobody pays attention to me
5. Cry, shriek loudly when hungry
6. Pull Ian's hair and surprise him a little with how hard a little baby can pull!
7. Play with Ian (when Ian shows you his animals or other toys)
8. Cuddle with Ian
9. Smile admiringly at Mama, Papa and Ian
10. Eat solid food and hit the spoon while being fed, throwing its contents all over me and the person feeding me
11. A million baby crunches (since about the 2nd month trying to raise up and see things). See next.
12. Lift myself up and look around curiously. Am I missing anything?
13. Give cute smiles to random people
14. Get squished by Ian, either through hugs or hard play
15. Be the cutest and happiest baby on the block
16. Sit in the "bakfiets" with Ian and enjoy the view
17. Try to reach for stuff laying in front of me, also by using my legs to move object closer to my hands
18. Dance with Mommy and Daddy
19. Suck on random objects, including Ian's dirty socks
20. Eat and suck on a soft cracker (cracotte)
21. Pull socks off
22. Be captivated by anything and everything Ian does
23. Lay still on Papa's chest
24. Never lay still on Mama's chest
25. Fall asleep on the boob and the boob only
26. Travel - already visited the US, France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Norway and the Netherlands already. Going to add 2 more countries to that list before the end of the year!
27. Flew on 6 airplanes and endured a few long car trips with little complaint (10-11 hours each way to/from France!)
28. Grab Papa's and Mama's glasses
29. Grab a handful of Mama's hair in each hand while she carries me around. Kindof like how a little monkey holds onto it's mama or papa's hair
30. Suck on my fingers - sometimes one, sometimes all at once
31. Suck on my toes - yummy
32. Sleep through the night from 6 weeks, until the 6th month when I wake Mama up about 2-3 times a night (think it's a growth spurt)
33. Wake up from sleeping and remain very quiet so that nobody knows I am actually awake
34. (Slowly) Take Ian's toys away from him
35. Play music with my feet on this handy playmat my Nana Susan ordered for me
36. Charm the nurses at the consultatiebureau during my check-up appointments
37. Interrupt dinner with a high-pitched squeal
38. Listen to Ian reading a book
39. Admire and smile at myself in the mirror
40. Lick my lips and stare intently at the food being eaten around me
41. Spit up my milk when it's too hot outside
42. Stay up late and party at weddings
43. Sit happily in the stroller while my mama walks me around talking to her friend
44. Pull my knees up a little under me in an attempt to start crawling
45. Laugh at Ian when he is being silly to me
46. Kick and move my arms and legs wildly about when I see someone walk by me who I love and am happy to see
47. Rock my own maxi cosi (car seat/stroller seat) by kicking one leg to get it going
48. In relation to the previous - get my (bouncy) chair bouncing by kicking my legs
49. Fall asleep in Papa's arms
50. Make people, especially my family, fall in love with me immediately. I mean, look at my dimple and winning toothless smile - how can they not?

Happy 6 months, Sona!
You are 6 months old today. You are a very happy, smiling and easy baby. Of course, lately you have been keeping mama awake a lot at night, because you must be growing like crazy. Anyhow, we look forward to watching you continue to grow and develop (and return to sleeping through the night)!

Almost 6-month old hands
Mama and I enjoyed one of the last days of summer on Thursday. She decided to take photos of my hands. Go figure!

Ian serenading Sona
Ian sang (shouted) some of his favorite Dutch songs to Sona. She just loved it! Caught it on video and will try to post soon.
